15 WEEKS PREGNANT

Hello second trimester! I am so excited that I’ve made it to 15 weeks pregnant. It’s finally hitting me that this is actually happening. As I shared in my original post, pregnancy after molar pregnancy can cause anxiety, and fear. Nevertheless, I’m still choosing hope.

Harmony® Prenatal Test

At 12 weeks pregnant, we had the Harmony® prenatal test done. This test is a type of NIPT, which can also be called NIPS (non-invasive prenatal screening). It looks at the fragments of your baby’s DNA in your blood. This provides accurate information about the likelihood of common chromosomal conditions. Furthermore, it can also identify the sex of your baby.

Sadly, chromosomal conditions can occur in any pregnancy. Therefore, the Harmony prenatal test screens for the most common ones, including:

• Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), trisomy 18 and trisomy 13
• 22q11.2 microdeletion
• Monosomy X
• Sex chromosome aneuploidies (SCA)

A week later, our test results all came back negative for chromosomal conditions. Praise the Lord! That was a huge relief for us.

Gender Reveal

Since we opted for the gender version of the Harmony® prenatal test, we found out the baby’s gender.

Guess what! It’s a BOY!

Talk about shocked. We all thought it was going to be a girl.

15 Weeks Pregnant Changes

The baby is the size of an apple.

As far as changes I’m noticing, I woke up one morning and was suddenly showing. I’ve also noticed my extreme nausea symptoms, from the first trimester, are finally calming. Unfortunately, headaches and heartburn now seem to be common things for me. However, the best part is my energy and my appetite are finally returning. That means it’s time for us to get organized!
