BEST TIME TO GO TO DISNEY WORLD 2019 – 2020?

Best time to go to Disney World

Planning a trip to Disney World? Would you like to know the best time to go to Disney world 2019 – 2020? Let’s make your trip magical by planning ahead. We’ll cover the best time of year to visit, what to do starting 180 days, and 30-60 days before your vacation, as well as using MagicBands, setting up FastPasses, and the all new Signature Celebration Package.

1.) Best time To Go To Disney World in 2019-2020:

Disney World is open daily year-round, including holidays, with varying hours. Summertime, weekends, and school holidays are usually very crowded. Check the Walt Disney World Crowd Calendar here!

For light crowds, we recommend visiting Disney World the last two weeks of August 2019 through October 3, 2019. The last week of October, and Jan. 9-March 12, 2020 are also great times to visit with below average crowds. The last week of April-May 2020 will have the lightest crowds.

For our family, the best time to go to Disney World is during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It’s the one time of year that you will see the villains in addition to the main characters.

2.) 180 Days Before your Vacation:

Download the Free Disney World mobile app (My Disney Experience) to view showtimes, find character greeting locations, make dining reservations, search maps of all 4 theme parks, get real-time attraction wait times, and place mobile orders at select quick-service restaurants.

Make Character Dining Reservations – Disney characters will visit your table and post for photos with you. Advance reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit. They book quickly, so plan ahead as much as possible. (Take note: Some Preschoolers may be scared of the characters, but not scared of the princesses. Cinderella’s Royal Table is where you can meet the Classic Disney Princesses. The Crystal Palace has Winnie the Pooh characters.)

3.) NEW! Signature Celebration Package

4.) Order disney parks magicbands

Order Disney Parks MagicBand 2 to wear during your park visit. With a simple touch, redeem FastPass+ selections, enter parks, charge purchases to your room, and more! If you participate in mobile orders via the My Disney Experience app, wearing a MagicBand will automatically alert your quick service restaurant to start preparing your food, once you walk within a certain radius of the restaurant, so your food is ready when you walk in. (You will automatically receive a MagicBand if you stay at a Disney Resort hotel or if you are a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder. If you are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel and are not a Pass holder, you will instead receive a card when you purchase tickets for park admission.)

5.) stroller or bedding rental

Stroller or bedding Rental – I highly recommend leaving your stroller at home and renting one from Kingdom Strollers. If you need a single or double stroller, a special needs stroller, or cribs and bedding, they’ve got you covered! They have free delivery and pickup to/from your resort, hotel, or residence. Their strollers and accessories fit Disney’s new requirements, so you have nothing to worry about. We’ve rented from them on four separate occasions and we always choose to add the free rain cover and a cooler bag options. (We bring our own snacks and frozen water bottles in the cooler bag, which clips onto the stroller handle so it doesn’t take up any storage space.)

6.) 30-60 Days Before your vacation:

Set up FastPass+ : Just link park admission to your Disney account to start using FastPass+ service. With a ticket or pass, you can make your selections up to 30 days in advance—starting at 7:00 AM Eastern Time. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can make your FastPass+ selections up to 60 days prior to check-in for the entire length of your stay.

  • Before you arrive: Check availability for must-do experiences and lock in 1, 2 or 3 FastPass+ selections for each day of your ticket at a single park.
  • At the Theme Parks: Use your MagicBand or card to enter the FastPass+ line any time during the 1-hour arrival window and get to the fun, faster.
  • Choose More as You Go: After you enjoy your third FastPass+ experience, you’re free to make another selection at an in-park kiosk or on your mobile device. Use that one, then get one more (based on availability)―and repeat!

For more information, to buy tickets, or to make reservations, visit the Walt Disney World website.

7.) Magic Kingdom with Preschoolers Itinerary:

Check the parade showtimes for the day so you can plan to head to Frontierland before the parade starts, watch the parade, then hit the nearest attractions and avoid the lines. Read more about this Parade Tip in my Guide to Magic Kingdom with Preschoolers, mapped out for one day. You can spread these over two days if that works best for your family.

Magic Kingdom Park facilities:

In addition to bathrooms, food and concessions, Magic Kingdom Park also offers stroller rentals, locker rentals, and a Baby Care Center for changing diapers, warming bottles, nursing/feeding, and quiet time.
